Welcome to the “Shamrock” Garden website.
The “Shamrock” Garden contains
the largest collection of hydrangeas in the world.

The “Shamrock” Garden is located in Varengeville-sur-Mer, near Dieppe, in Normandy.
The garden is divided into three zones. The first zone, the Bois du Dragon Vert (“Green Dragon Wood”), is densely wooded. Asian species that are especially sensitive to direct sunlight are planted here.
The second zone is the Jardin Céleste (“Celestial Garden”), where the central flowerbeds reproduce the design of a crop circle. This is the area that is most exposed to the sun, and therefore contains the most sunlight-tolerant hydrangeas.
The third zone is in the form of a maze, where each bed is dedicated to a breeder, by country or region of the world. The beds are in a verdant setting of paulownias and buddleias, which provide the necessary gentle shade for the hydrangeas planted there.
